Club History
PRAKASH
Late Dr.Sreenivasan Kandampully, a doctor by profession but more than that he was a social reformer in the village, is the founder president of our Prakash Library, arts and games club. He was approached by two youths from the village with their beloved school teacher Sri. A.K.John Master to get his support to start a club with facilities of Library, arts and games activities. It was with the support of their guru Sri. A.K. John Master and Dr. Sreenivasan Kandampully Praksh library,arts and games club established in the year 1970 at Nhamanghat Village, Thrissur district. Kerala.. So for the last fifty plus years we are present in this village involving in varies cultural, games activities and most importantly with a well-established professional library. We strongly believe that libraries are gateways to knowledge and culture and play a fundamental role in society. The resources and services we offer create opportunities for learning, support literacy and education, and help shape the new ideas and perspectives that are central to a creative and innovative society.
Recently we have improved the library facilities of the club and the new library has inaugurated by our honorable Thrissur MP Sri. T.N. Prathapan.
Now the club got members from all walks of life from the society without any discrimination against cast, creed or religion but definitely no politics. Club is now targeting to enhance the activities of the library to improve the reading habits of youths to improve their knowledge through reading. We strongly believe that this will help them to divert their attention from the present day menace of mobile addiction and other anti-social activities if any to certain extent.
With the great support of all our present members we are planning to enhance our club activities to support the society by motivating children who score high marks in their studies by giving awards and other supports. We have a strong official team to monitor and improve all activities of our club. Our motto is to support and motivate the youths of this peaceful village because they are the people who has to keep the peaceful harmony of this village intact.
